bottom line: i cannot function without connectivity. when the cable service went out (fortunately, at the end of the work day), my household was sent reeling into activity to investigate and report possible problems to the provider (who said there was not outage in the area). at dusk, the cable guys showed up to check for what could be blocking the signal. my first thought: fire ants!

if we could only figure out a way to harness the power of fire ants!

ants are so prolific and organized, we’d probably never be down, not lose track of an auction, lose no sweat concocting what excuse to give for not being online in the morning, and we’d find wifi anywhere in the world. but then, would anteaters be employed as population control by some enterprising service provider, to force prices upward.

the cable guys showed up again, a coupleof DVDs later and we’re finally reconnected.

tomorrow, we’ll search and destroy fire ant mounds.
