and the french said he lacks panache
such a silly observation about floyd landis! he has proven to the french, and to the cycling world, that he truly deserves our awe and admiration for his spectacular comeback performances during this very exciting, albeit confusing, tour. today, he did what only bob roll of oln thought would be remotely possible, when his co-commentators had written off a landis tour victory. he not only gained back nearly all of 8 minutes lost to oscar pereiro yesterday, he won stage 17 and ended only 30 seconds behind the yellow jersey! to say the least, he rode like a bat outta hell.
as his former captain, lance armstrong, said: we’ve had our differences, but he’s an american and it would be nice to keep the yellow jersey in the States.

back in the saddle again
after yesterday’s horrific crack under the heat, pressure, lack of fluids and no teammates around to support him, floyd landis is back on the road today and with a vengeance. as i write, he leads the breakaway, has gained nearly 6 minutes over the peloton and is in 3rd place overall. the race isn’t over until paris.
it makes me ashamed to not have gone out for my run in 76F and 79% humidity this morning, relatively cool to mornings of late.
