life is like the tide…it comes and goes on its own time

battleground lebanon

it’s a tiny sliver of a country, only about 4,000 square miles along the beautiful eastern mediterranean, home of the ancient phoenicians. ‘Lubnan,’ named for the white-capped Mt. , was the jewel of the Middle East.

i have often wondered whatever happened to my friends and colleagues from , although i do know that some have died and others have moved out of the country.

i personally do not support the occupation or invasion of any part of Lebanon. it’s pretty darned obvious they don’t belong there, their tactics aren’t working, displaced thousands upon thousands of Lebanese and they’ve turned a land of significant into a killing field. the reality is that Israel has had ‘designs’ on their neighbor for ages, considering Lebanon is rich with fertile valleys and rivers, beautiful mountains and beaches.

don’t be upset with the messenger (Israel). The Lebanese gov’t and the UN should have done this 2 years ago. Unfortunately, it is left to the GOI to cleanse the Hezbola. Just let them finish. Lebanon will benefit and all of the freeworld culture. Patience Please

thank you for stopping in and taking the time to comment. it’s such a sticky situation and western diplomatics typically get things all wrong in the middle east (history has proven this to be true). it’s truly saddening that, after so many years of rebuilding and relative peace, they’re thrown back into chaos. what did they ever do to anyone? nothing. haraam! but, shalom or salaam to you.

no, it’s not. what i want to know is why the heck kofi annan thinks the US is supposed to put a halt to the fighting – as though we’re not already dealing with enough in the middle east! what are the U.N. forces for, eh?
