life is like the tide…it comes and goes on its own time

geico gecko

he’s such a cute little lizard. previously, i wondered if the ‘s accent is supposed to be aussie. now, i’m thinking it may be cockney.

either way, needs to address their commercials. somehow, the new celebrity/customer pairing just doesn’t inspire my confidence in the company’s product or service.

at the same time, how many of you remember what the silly commercials are for? if you do, then they are successful.

Kelsey Grammar did the first gecko voice. But it’s cockney now, courtesy the british voice-over actor David Kelly. Don’t know why; a gecko’s natural habitat is more likely to be Queensland than London. But they are also more likely not to speak at all. 🙂

Thank you! I have been wondering who the voice was, too. The geckos living around my house may be rather busy little guys, but also quite mute. hahaha!

I love the cavemen commerical, it doesn’t matter how many times I watch it, it always make me laugh

It’s cockney 100%, the voiceover is done by Jake Wood of BBC’s Eastenders, set in East London
